General

From a regulatory point of view, an inflatable water park is classified as a physical activity or sports establishment, under article 47 of law no. 84-610 of July 16 1984, amended by decree no. 91-980 of September 20 1991. It is also subject to the provisions of Decree no. 81-324 of April 7, 1981.

The main obligations include :

  • Setting up a clearly defined safety zone
  • Supervision by qualified personnel
  • Specific administrative obligations (declarations, posting)
  • Compliance with technical and health standards
  • Provision of appropriate safety equipment

BAW SPORTS supports BAW SPORTS in understanding and complying with these legal obligations, providing you with all the necessary documents and advice.

Capacity depends on the size and configuration of your park. Here are the capacities of our standard models:

  • Aquapark : 30 people
  • Aquapark : 40 people
  • Aquapark : 60 people
  • Aquapark : 00 people
  • Aquapark : 120 people
  • Aquapark : 180 people

It is important to respect these maximum capacities for reasons of safety and user comfort. Each module has its own capacity, which contributes to the total capacity of the park. The optimum size of your park will depend on your catchment area and your business objectives.

To supervise an inflatable water park in France, staff must have specific aquatic safety qualifications. The qualifications generally required are :

  • BNSSA (National Aquatic Safety and Rescue Certificate)
  • or BPJEPS AAN (Brevet Professionnel de la Jeunesse, de l'Éducation Populaire et du Sport, specializing in aquatic and swimming activities)
  • or BEESAN (Brevet d'État d'Éducateur Sportif aux Activités de la Natation), for older diplomas

The number of supervisors required depends on the size of the park and the number of simultaneous users. BAW SPORTS advise you on the optimal supervision ratio and best practices for organizing safety.

Weather management is essential to the safety and longevity of your water park. Based on the Beaufort scale, here are our recommendations:

  • 12 hours before a storm (Beaufort scale 5-6 or more) :
    • If possible, remove the park completely from the water
    • Alternatively, disconnect obstacles individually and bring them back to shore
    • Completely deflate the structures and store them in a sheltered area
  • A few hours before the storm (if time is insufficient for complete removal) :
    • Remove 70-80% of air from large obstacles (2 metres high or more)
    • Remove 50% of the air from obstacles measuring between 1 and 2 metres.
    • Loosen anchors, leaving at least 1.5 metres of slack

In the event of a sudden storm, never attempt to recover structures during the storm. Evacuate the area and wait for conditions to improve. We recommend using reliable weather forecasting services like WindGuru to anticipate these conditions.

To keep your inflatables in perfect condition and extend their lifespan:
